Is there good fishing in and around Boquete, Panama?

Some of the best fishing in Panama can be found off of Chiriqui Province (Boquete is in Chiriqui Province) AND its less expensive than going out from Panama City. You can enjoy the Bay of Chiriqui's many islands for a nice lunch stop as well.

I must say that Boquete is in the mountains and I had never seen anyone fishing in Boquete rivers.  The closest place to fish may be one and a half hours away.

From Boquete you can drive just 45 minutes to Puerto Pedregal (near David airport ) and take a boat from there.  Also you can drive to Boca Chica, where there are fishing tour operators that provide this service.  There is also close by Puerto Armuelles, which is getting more famous every day for the excellent Yellow Fin Tuna you can catch because near land there the water is super deep so the chances to catch big fish are BIG!
