Hello friend!
In Boquete there is no surf because is up in the mountains. The good news is Boquete super close to the Pacific ocean where you can have great surfing in a one day adventure!
There is options to hire a private guide with transportation and rent a surf board if you are traveling very light
I hope this answer is helpful for you :)

From Boquete, I’m sure that there are many places near the Pacific side of Panama where you can go surfing, and it would be about an hour away, by car. However, a lot of people don’t know that there are also surfing areas on the Caribbean side. My family and I were in Bocas del Toro last March and we saw that there were surfboards everywhere. However, a lot of people don’t know that there are also surfing areas on the Caribbean side. My family and I were in Bocas del Toro last March and we saw that there were surfboards everywhere. From where we were, the waves were calm and beautiful but according to the locals, if you go out to the islands, the waves are much bigger and more dangerous than the Pacific side. Also, my husband’s general manager used to be a surfer in Bocas del Toro so apparently, it’s really a surf spot in Panama.
By car, and if you know the road, it’ll take you probably 3 and half hours to get to Bocas del Toro. Although it’s much easier to go from Boquete to the Pacific side (probably about 45 minutes), traveling to Bocas del Toro won’t bore you. It’s a beautiful drive because the road is good. If the government would build a highway over the mountains, you could make it in no time because Bocas del Toro is just right at the other side of the mountain.

Boquete is located about 3,500 feet (about 1,100 meters) above sea level so we don’t exactly have beachfront property here. However, Panama has over 1,100 miles of coastline and since the country averages about 70 miles across, you’re never very far from the ocean. The roads are quite good throughout the country and for a quick day surfing trip you can make it from Boquete to Barqueta beach in just about an hour.

In Boquete, serious surfers generally go to Bocas del Toro on the Caribbean side of the country or drive to Santa Catalina or Pedasi, both located near Santiago. From Boquete, driving time to Bocas is just about 4 hours and you can make it to Pedasi or Santa Catalina in around 5 hours. Both areas are known for high quality surfing at various times of the year.
What’s great about living in Boquete is that you can live in a very mild climate surrounded by lush tropical forests and jump in your car and experience some of the best surfing in Central America in just a few hours. Since surfing conditions change throughout the year, you can drive to the areas that have the best waves when the time is right.
When the waves aren’t breaking, adventurous water lovers can do world class kayaking and white water rafting near Boquete for a nice change of pace.

The beaches in Chiriqui are not good for surfing, although you can use boogie boards. Most people who live in Boquete and who want to go surfing would go to Santa Catalina in the Azuero Peninsula, which is around three and a half hours from Boquete by car. There are several places there where the surfers go. Santa Catalina is where international surfers have competitions so it is apparently pretty good.

People living in Boquete who want to surf also go to Bocas Del Toro, which is on the other side of Panama, on the Caribbean side. Bocas Del Toro is a two-hour ride from Boquete getting to the ocean and then you have to take a water taxi to go to the main city of Bocas.
