There are a lot of rafting companies in Panama. However, a lot of the local rivers have become unnavigable because of the hydroelectric plants so the rafting companies mostly drive you over to the Costa Rican border where there is a big river called Chiriqui Viejo (an hour and a half away from Boquete by car), but I have heard rumors that they are going to take that away because of the hydroelectric plants. The need for electricity versus the need for the rivers is a big controversy...

Some people also go ocean kayaking. The nearest beach to Boquete where you can swim and go kayaking is Playa Barqueta, which is around 50 minutes away from Boquete by car.
