For a couple it is less than 2.00 USD. The weather even in rainy season is accommodating to the morning walkers. Our rains usually start around noon or a bit later. By the way we have new cross overs in the area that help prevent pedestrians from being run over, on the highway in the Alto Boquete area.

If you’re not inclined to own a car, you have a few good options. However, if you’re not living on a primary road or highway, you’ll have to find a way to make it to the bus routes. Also, the local buses stop running at around 9pm most evenings.
The other option is to use taxis. Taxis are plentiful in Boquete but, like most areas of the world, finding a taxi when you need it can be a problem. With this in mind, most expats who use this option will find a driver who speaks a bit of English so that they can call when they need a ride.

I own a vehicle with 4x4, so I can access some of the more remote areas, and a simple sedan for running errands. I also love to walk around town and ride my mountain bike. Occasionally, I’ll hike to town, buy my groceries, and take a taxi or bus back to my home ( an 8-minute drive for $1.50).

It’s very easy to get around in Boquete, and you can take many different kinds of transportation to go around town. The taxi fare in Boquete is very cheap. A taxi costs only US 60 cents from Alto Boquete up to the town. This is a collective taxi, where they pick up multiple people along the road and take them to town, which takes around 5 to 7 minutes. It’s very easy to get around in Boquete, and you can take many different kinds of transportation to go around town. The taxi fare in Boquete is very cheap. A taxi costs only US 60 cents from Alto Boquete up to the town. This is a collective taxi, where they pick up multiple people along the road and take them to town, which takes around 5 to 7 minutes. You can also rent a car to take you around the different areas of Boquete. It’s easier to do this if you want to take the different loops around town. We also have buses here.
It is now very convenient to travel from Boquete to David because we now have a four-lane road. We have a lot of buses taking this route. The four-lane road goes from David, which is the largest city closest to Boquete, up to Boquete. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes from David to Boquete by car.
You can also take your bicycle around Boquete but it is not a common means of transportation here in Boquete. We don’t have bicycle lanes here. You could walk around Boquete because the town is really small so you could just walk everywhere.
The advantage of having a car in Boquete is that you can easily go to David to do your grocery shopping. When you have a car here, you could enjoy nature and the scenery even better. You can go around Boquete in a bus and still see nice views but Boquete has different views that you could only see if you are on a private car.
Los Molinos, the residential community where I live, is about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from the town of Boquete, in between Boquete and David. If you live in Los Molinos, it’s better to have a car.
There are a lot of people who drive their cars every single day to David and back to Boquete. You can hitch a ride with them if you don’t want to buy your own car.

I’ve done it many times. The nice thing about the cabs in Boquete is that the government requires them to be licensed and to pay for the taxi license. The government requires cabs to be yellow and be in good working order.
Taxis are always easily identifiable because they’re required to be yellow. If a cab’s not yellow, it’s not a cab. Think about any other city where you can go to and get anywhere for a dollar. You can’t replace that- it’s extremely convenient, and there are hundreds of cabs. There’s no way that you’re standing out on the street waiting for a cab for 5-10 minutes as there are five cabs that drive by every minute. To hail a cab, you just raise your arm up and they’ll stop. Taxi drivers love to get us expats.

Boquete is a very small town. You can go anywhere around town by foot but there are also many and very good places to see an they are not in a walking distance. I would take a taxi to take me to any specific place because the buses will leave you in the public streets and some lands have the building or the business you are visiting inside the property so leaving you a few steps from the main door would be more comfortable in a sunny day and more helpful in a rainy day. This way you can also enjoy the ride and enjoy the views that are always amazing.
This is if you are visiting Boquete but if you are planning on staying here you should think about buying a car. Parking in Boquete is free unlike other cities like New York or LA.
This is the most honest answer I can give you and it is based on my own experience and tourist stories that I've heard about. Boquete is a wonderful place and you will love sightseeing here.
