Are taxis readily available in Boquete, Panama, and what do taxis cost in Boquete, Panama?

I live in David (the closest large city to Boquete) and have not had a problem finding a taxi. The prices will vary depending on how far you want to go and the amount of people in your party that are using the taxi. I have found the average price to get from point a to point b is $1.25.

Dear All,
I will share with you my experience. The taxi drivers in Boquete are fine very honest… in Panama City you should always call to the companies because you never know.
In Panama City they will charge whatever they want…. On the other hand in Boquete be aware of the prices depends.
You can find companies in the phone book; I will not recommend you to look...

We have been back in Boquete for several months. One afternoon about 4 while waiting for my wife, I sat on a bench in front of the Hotel Fundadores on Via Boquete, the main street in Boquete. After a while, becoming bored I started counting taxis. I counted those entering and leaving town center. I stopped at 60, after 35 minutes. There were also 5 busses. Granted many taxis were the same vehicle but most trips here are short. Our costs vary from $0.60 to $2. For many it makes...

We rent a car locally for a day about once a month to go to David on shopping trips. But there are frequent busses from town center here as well. Boquete has most anything you might need, but David being the 2nd largest city in Panama has much more, and better prices on some things. I have heard the 30 mile bus trip to David is about $1.75. The car rental is about $40/day, and we rarely spend more than $70-$80 per month on transportation.

In Boquete you can find taxis as early as 7 AM for sure most days. Usually there are two options. The least expensive option is to ride in a collective with as many as four more persons. Depending on how far you go from downtown Boquete (the park) a collective can cost you anywhere from 50 cents to one dollar. If you find a taxi that is empty and ask for a "carrera" (a private ride) you can pay around US $1.50 up to $4.00 or $5.00, depending how...

The farthest you will usually want to go is David's airport and that can cost you around $25.00 to $30.00. One final note, after 8 PM or 9 PM and sometimes 7 PM, it is very hard to find a cabbie, specially on rainy days.

The cost for taxis in Boquete depends on where you are going. For example, if you take a taxi in a close area of the town, it would probably cost $1, but away the town area, the cost would depend on the distance.
If you take a bus to David (the closest large town to Boquete; about 30 miles away) it could cost approximately $3.
