Can I buy good clothes in Boquete, Panama?

Around the new shopping plaza in Boquete there are some boutique stores that offer higher end clothing. Expect to pay a premium price for tee shirts, logo items and accessories. Very stylish and nice quality clothing. This is a picture of the shopping plaza.
North of the Catholic Church is a small dress shop where the designs are daring and sexy for the most part and within reasonable price ranges from $39 to $95 up.

Breezy tropical style sun dresses and tops can be had for under $40 at many of the small shops along the main street. Hats, caps, sarongs, art, jewelry are available.
If a trip to David is necessary for something special, Conway is always a good choice. At the shopping center where Conway is located there are other small shops with beautiful and colorful sporty styles.
This picture is looking north towards the Catholic Church.
Arrocha is a large store that has high end cosmetics, pharmacy items, home decor, purses and gift items. The second floor is full of beautiful infants and kids things, a camera, camera and computer accessories as well as luggage; too much to describe here.
Do It Center is your answer to Home Depot; Rey is a very nice grocery store. All of these stores are in one large shopping center just off the Pan American highway on the Boquete side of that highway. It really makes shopping less stressful.

You can buy basic clothes in Boquete but expect to have to go to David (the closest larger city; about an hour away) to get some variety. Or better still Panama city (several hours away) is fantastic for shopping.

Dear reader,
Yes you can buy very decent quality clothing here in Boquete. There is a store called La Reina on the main street and also a few shops by the main square and Plaza Los Establos.
Usually there is more options for women than for men but I buy very often my clothes here even nice shoes or tennis shoes like Nike and other brands.
If this option might not be the best for you then you can...

If this option might not be the best for you then you can drive just 35 minutes to David, where there are a lot more options and very cheap prices, of course :) . Another good option is at the border in the Paso Canoas frontier with Costa Rica, which is only 45 minutes from David.
I hope this information is helpful for you and I hope you can have the chance to do it :)
Oscar.

The best shopping areas are in Panama City: Albrook Mall, Multiplaza, Multicentro, and Westland Mall.
Very nice items.

There are several smaller clothing stores in Boquete, most of them catering to the local market. Nearly all the clothing sold in Boquete is actually overstock from the US so you’ll see a lot of familiar brands but most of the clothes are available in one size only. For example, if you find a men’s shirt that you like but it’s not your size, the store is usually not going to have another size available. You just buy whatever is on the rack. Because...

Because of this, the selection is rather small but the prices are very good.
However, if you take the short drive from Boquete down to David (the closest larger city to Boquete), your shopping options expand dramatically. The Plaza Terronal, located at the end of the highway from Boquete to David has everything you need including a 24-hour supermarket, computer stores, electronics and appliances stores, hardware stores, one of the largest pharmacies in Panama, a great wine shop and the Conway department store.
Conway is very similar to Target and has several floors of men’s and women’s apparel, shoes, swim suits, beauty supplies, small appliances, kitchen goods and a small furnishing department. Whatever you need you’re likely to find it at Conway and at prices that are surprisingly low.

Boquete is not known for having lots of options for purchasing clothing. Typically, you would have to go to David to buy better clothes, which is about 30 to 40 minutes away depending on where you’re going in David.

There are some used clothing places, but that’s very, very minimal here in Boquete. Boquete is not a place for regular clothes; maybe some trinkets and homemade things made by indigenous people or something like that to take away as souvenirs, but as far as regular clothing is concerned Boquete is really not the place to look.
The malls are not the best here and in David either, although there is a mall that’s being constructed right now as I write this, although it probably won’t get done for another year or in two years because it’s going to be a huge mall like Albert Mall in Panama City, and will have a ton of different kinds of stores. But currently, they have different clothing stores in the downtown area of David. They have smaller malls where one can look around and find decent clothes for a very good price, but the quality might not be the greatest.
I personally don’t feel clothing-deprived because I travel a lot back and forth to the US and do other things to keep myself supplied. I have bought some things in David at the malls and they worked out for me. My size is pretty readily available. If somebody needed bigger sizes or 2 XL larger for men it’s going to be very difficult to find larger sized clothes around here. Panamanians tend to be smaller, so the sizes may say “large” but in reality they are actually smaller clothes.
(Casa de Montana had a garage sale on their back patio, which included clothes, Boquete, Panama, pictured.)
