There are several tour companies that offer diving and scuba in Isla Colon for the novice all the way to the experienced. Just walk up and down the main street in Bocas Town and you will have no trouble finding them.

Bocas del Toro has some of the best SCUBA diving and snorkeling anywhere. A large area of the archipelago is the National Marine Park. We have four or five schools that can get you certified as a diver. Bocas del Toro is the cheapest place in the Caribbean to get certified. There are tons of really nice reefs close by and you can either snorkel or you can drive and be part of a diving group that goes into larger areas.

The water in Bocas del Toro is crystal clear and it is very calm. It may get some waves that are a couple of feet high from time to time, but that’s it. Most areas around Bocas del Toro are shallow so we have shallow reefs. You don’t have to dive a hundred feet here. Most of the dives are up to thirty feet deep. Most of the divers appreciate this.
The water is warm, nice and comfortable. You do not need a wetsuit. There are people who do deeper diving. They have wet suits. But for the average dive, which is 30 feet, you really don’t need a wetsuit.
