Surfs up! Well, at least during some parts of the year. When the north wind is blowing, early in the year, you can find a number of good surf breaks in Bocas del Toro.

The surf in Bocas del Toro here in Panama really does vary depending on prevailing conditions. When conditions are right Bocas del Toro offers some world class surf breaks.
I had a friend visit from Australia in December. He is very keen on his surfing, and was extremely enthusiastic about conditions here.

The surfing conditions in Bocas del Toro at any one time all depends on the weather.
Surfing is especially great in Drago. You just have to be careful to watch for high waves at times.

Surfing in Bocas Del Toro is seasonal. When the North Wind is blowing, which is usually around January to March, the waves are up and the surfing is great. The waves are flat around September and October. Most of Bocas Del Toro is very flat but the outer laying islands are exposed to the surf.
The best surfing spot would probably be Bluff Beach on Isla Colon. The north part of Isla Colon gets very good surf. Bluff Beach is around 40 minutes away from the...
