How's the golf in and around Bocas Del Toro, Panama?

After an extensive research, I have not been able to find any information regarding golf courses in Bocas del Toro. However, with the real estate business and tourism flourishing in that province, I'm sure at any moment a development will include some sort of facility to play golf.
Even so, Bocas del Toro is anything but short of things do, especially when it comes to beaches, nature and ecotourism. The options are many and I can't wait to visit Bocas...

There are no golf courses anywhere in the province of Bocas del Toro.
People who visit spend their time scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, drinking and eating.
The nearest golf courses are in Boquete, Chiriqui Province, quite a good distance away.

There’s no golf in and around Bocas del Toro proper. The closest golf course is over in Changuinola, on the mainland, where they have a little 9-hole executive course that was left over from when Chiquita was there and made the area the banana capital of the world.
You can get to Changuinola by bus, which takes roughly an hour and 15 minutes. A few of the expats go there to golf.

If you want to just play golf from time to time, you can drive over to Boquete, which is three and a half to four hours away from Bocas del Toro. There’s an express shuttle now on the mainland that goes directly to Boquete. If you want to play golf, you can just take the shuttle to Boquete and you will be there in three hours.
People do not come to Bocas del Toro for golfing. They come here for ocean activities. You would never see tourists walking around with golf clubs in Bocas del Toro. Even if a golf enthusiast moves to Bocas del Toro, they usually do not bring their golf clubs.
