Are there natural disasters like flooding, earthquakes, fire or hurricanes in Bocas Del Toro?

Natural disasters in the islands of Bocas del Toro? Not really. Once every 100 years there may be an earthquake. There may be heavy rains when a hurricane is blowing up from the Caribbean into the Gulf of Mexico. That's really about it. Nothing to get nervous over.

In the fourteen years I have been coming here to Bocas del Toro, I have never experienced anything more than mild earthquake tremors from earthquakes in Costa Rica and some heavy rainstorms where it rains most of the day ( maybe 2 or 3 days) and is very windy but not anything close to hurricane gale.

It's what makes things so lush and green here.

We have shakers and some tremors every now and then in Bocas del Toro from earthquakes elsewhere. I have been here for 11 years and have not experienced a major earthquake.
We rarely have fires. We have a fire department that is not really busy, and that’s good.
There are no hurricanes because we’re too low on the Hurricane Belt. This is a major benefit for cruisers that sail in.

There’s flooding in Bocas del Toro, but not on the island of Carenero because of the type of soil and just how it is situated. For that, that’s a major benefit to the cruisers that sail in.
There just aren’t a lot of natural disasters here in Bocas del Toro.
