Are there natural disasters like flooding, earthquakes, fire or hurricanes in Bastimentos?

Fire and hurricanes are not natural disasters that happen in Bastimentos / Bocas del Toro area. 

Flooding is sometimes a problem on the mainland in Bocas del Toro province. I've never heard of flooding causing any problem on the islands.

Mild earthquakes can be a bit more common though, since the whole Bocas del Toro / Chiriqui and nearby Costa Rica are subject to this kind of natural phenomenon on a regular basis. However, very very rarely do they cause any damage.

 

Since moving from one island to another is of course by boat, caution is advised in case of bad sea conditions due to weather.
