What's the best way to get around in Bastimentos, Panama?

The best way to get around in Bastimentos is walking or by boat. There are no roads on Bastimentos. There is a pedestrian cement sidewalk going from one end of town to the other. From that sidewalk you have dirt roads going to various parts of the town. If you wish to go from one end of the island to the other, you must do so by boat. There are water taxis available if you do not own your own boat.

So from Bastimentos Town, if you wanted to go to Red Frog, you would take a water taxi to the Red Frog marina, and from there walk 15 minutes to Red Frogs. Please note, that road is private, and unless you are patronizing either one of the lodging facilities  or going on the canopy zip line there, you will have to pay a toll to get on that little road. Current toll is $3 per person.  If you want to go to further parts of Bastimentos, you will need to do so by boat.
