You can bring your dog or cat or other pets to Panama, yes....it requires a few "bureaucratic" steps with veterinarians, checkups, shots, the Ministry of Agriculture, Panamanian Consulate, quarantine fees, vet inspection here in Panama.....and some more fees...it's not complicated, just needs a bit of preparation as it is a process...
Beware of "after hours" arrival, the pet will stay at the airport overnight if you don't arrange for this...

Bringing dogs or cats into Panama is not difficult but there are a variety of documents, health certificates and vaccinations that your pet needs prior to arriving in the country. There is a time limit (10 days) from the day your vet issues you pet’s health certificate and the certification of all the documents by the Panama embassy or nearest consulate.

Most people concentrate on the process of obtaining and submitting the various health certificates that their pet will need and don’t think about the issues involved in transporting their furry friends to Panama. The airlines have gotten very restrictive about accepting pets as baggage and there are specific requirements for your portable kennel (minimum size and construction) as well as rules that regulate when your pet can travel. For example, if the temperature at the originating or arrival airport is too high, the airline will not permit you to send your pet. In most cases, it’s best to try to arrive in Panama in the evening hours to overcome the temperature restrictions. If Panama City is not your final destination then you may have to find a “pet friendly” hotel to accommodate you and your animals before traveling to your final destination. Again, you can use Google to find hotels in Panama City that accommodate pets.
This process is for bringing your dog or cat to Panama. For other animals (birds, fish, reptiles etc.) different rules and regulations apply so you’ll need to do more research.
Bringing your pet to Panama is not difficult but preplanning and organization is a key part of a successful journey.

It is very easy to bring a cat or a dog to Panama. We brought out little Chihuahua to Panama from California.
What you need to do is go to your vet and get a health certificate no more than 10 days before you plan to fly to Panama with your pet.

When you get to Panama, you will see the vet in the airport, who will look at the certificate and look over your pet. Then you just have to pay the fee and sign a paper that says that you will house quarantine your pet for I believe, 90 days so your pet doesn’t mix with the other animals. You don’t have to put your pet in a physical remote quarantine; just in your house.

Yes, you can bring your dogs and cats with you to Panama. I know this because my clients bring their pets very often. For you to bring your pets, get them be checked by the vets in your country first. You should also look into special air transportation for them. After you get your pets here to Panama, it’s very easy.

Many people bring their pets referring to dogs and cats. Panama has certain restrictions but they do not include quarantine like in other countries. What you must do is take care of the process of bringing your pet to Panama before you get on the plane. It is a matter of some documents and certificates that you need, which can all be done before you leave and then it’s clear sailing from there.

So many people bring their pets to Panama whether for long term or just a short vacation. Walking dogs on the beach is usual, and sometimes riders on horseback appear. Coronado has stables and there are many horse owners living in the area and ride on the paths and the beach. Horses are also rented from the Equestrian Center stables in Coronado.
