There are no golf courses in and around San Juan Del Sur. The closest golf course you can go to is about an hour and a half away, north of San Juan Del Sur. There are two golf courses there, which are Hacienda Iguana in Tola and the other one is in Mokul Hotel.

The golf course in Hacienda Iguana is an 18-hole course. It is nothing out of the ordinary. but if you are a golfer, it will ease your itch to play. You do not have to be a member to play in Hacienda Iguana, but you have to make a reservation. The rates are higher for people who do not live there.
Mukul Hotel is very close to Hacienda Iguana, no less than 10 kilometers (about 6 miles) away. The golf course in Mukul Hotel is a top of the line course, which was designed by the famous golf course designer, David McLay Kidd. I do not play golf, but even I find it very beautiful. If you want to play in Mukul, you can also make a reservation.

So the golf course in Guacalito de la Isla is world class.
The golf course in Hacienda Iguana is a very nice and very easy 9-hole golf course. I have heard that it is very easy to play. It is beautiful because is it located right next to the ocean. The green fees for Guacalito de la Isla would be around US $200. The Hacienda Iguana Beach Golf Course is about $30 to play.
