You can feel very safe wearing any jewelry in San Juan del Sur that is not completely outlandish. On a personal level, I wear my normal earrings and necklace and have never had any issue and don’t feel unsafe at all.

The question of whether you can wear jewelry in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua always comes up and is a good question. The question I would have, "Would you wear your best jewelry to the ocean?". The obvious answer is no. Just remember that San Juan del Sur is a beach town and flashing fancy jewelry is not something suggested to do. Wear shorts, flip-flops, t-shirts and leave your good stuff at home or in the safe in your room, if they have one....

I feel very safe walking around in San Juan Del Sur as I do in Vancouver, Canada where I come from. You can walk around wearing jewelry and still feel safe. I have lived here for six years now and I never had a single incident.
