If you want to splurge on food or just want to dine in a high-end restaurant you can go to El Timon, which is one of the best seafood restaurants, right by the beach. A meal at El Timon will cost you about $15 to $25.

If you go to a fritanga (pictured) here in San Juan Del Sur, you will find that they serve anything from carne asada, to pollo, to stew with gallo pinto with cheese with fried plantains and a cabbage salad. That usually costs around 60 to 70 Cordobas or US $2.50 per meal.

In the last 12 months, however, we’ve had a couple of much higher end, more internationally flavored restaurant. We have G&G Gourmet which is fantastic at around $12 to $15 for a plate and then there is the Cervezaria which was opened by American guys, that does...

We have G&G Gourmet which is fantastic at around $12 to $15 for a plate and then there is the Cervezaria which was opened by American guys, that does phenomenal food around $8 to $9. It’s a micro-brewery and it’s been extremely popular. Posted September 3, 2016
