It’s warm and breezy all year in San Juan Del Sur. It’s breezy and sunny but not dry or humid. The weather in San Juan Del Sur is a hundred times better than the weather in Managua even though these two places are relatively close to each other. Personally, I find it really hot and dry in Managua and when it rains, it’s just humid and hot at the same time.

In San Juan Del Sur, it’s breezy so it is so much cooler than in Managua. This is because of the winds coming from the Caribbean, through Lake Nicaragua, all the way to San Juan Del Sur. The weather is absolutely nice.

The rain begins at May, and that’s when it cools again. It rains from May through mid November. The highs are in the 82 - 85 Fahrenheit range. And then at night, it drops to the low 70s. There’s little wind. It’s great for fishing.
The dry heat we have here in San Juan del Sur is not like the desert heat. It’s not like Miami, either, which has humidity, and which is nasty. It’s just dry. The dry heat you get in San Juan del Sur is different because you get that refreshment from the sea. You get a little wind that cools you off because it comes from the ocean. I have never been in the desert, but I can imagine that it’s just dry, because there is no ocean for the breeze to come off of. In contrast, in San Juan del Sur, once you’re about to die of heat, you get this breeze that comes from the beach, which is great.
During an intense rainy season, the rain starts at around 4:30 or 5:00 in the morning and it stops around 6:00 to 6:00. Then it will be overcast and partly sunny and then sunny and at 2 PM, you get another rain shower; a quick one, for 20 minutes. And then it alternates between overcast and sunny. So, it rains, but it’s not like it’s raining all day long.
