This past December my wife, 13 year old son, and myself went to do some shopping in Managua and decided to go check out the Canopy Tour at the Mombacho Volcano. We looked up information that others had posted online about the location and were instructed to follow the signs to Catarina. Amazingly we ended up in Catarina

we were headed, Mombacho Volcano. This accidental visit was a pleasant surprise.
we were headed, Mombacho Volcano. This accidental visit was a pleasant surprise. We ate lunch at a little restaurant overlooking the lake below. After enjoying the sights and shops of Catarina we continued on to the Canopy tour at the Mombacho Volcano. It was an exhilarating experience as I had not been on a Canopy tour before. The Nicaraguan Guides were very entertaining, and spoke great English as well. It was our favorite day trip of our time in Nicaragua last December.
