How's the nightlife and entertainment in and around Managua, Nicaragua?

The nightlife and entertainment in Managua is really fun! What i like the most about it is that, as a woman, I feel so safe going to clubs at night with my friends on weekends or any other day.
The prices are really nice in Managua, depending on what you want to drink. Beers are really cheap ($1 or $2 in most of the discos), so we can have fun for not a lot of money.

We can find all kinds of entertainment at night. We can go to karaoke, play a game of pool or just hang out with friends in a bar with good music.
For movie lovers, theaters are a good option too. We have 4 or 5 cinemas around the city that are also inexpensive. Cinemark, Alhambra, Cinemas; all of them are good movie theaters at a good price.

The entertainment and nightlife in Managua is great! My husband and I like to see what the Teatro Ruben Dario is showcasing. Teatro Ruben Dario is a beautiful theater named after a famous Nicaraguan poet. They show folklore dances, piano concerts, opera, comedy, flamenco, and tango dancers from around the world, just to name a few. For dinner, we love to try new restaurants like Chik Chak, Ola Verde or just walk by the many small restaurants at Galeria Siman Mall.

As far as the nicer areas and the nicer things to do in the city of Managua itself, there are 4-5 places where restaurants are grouped together. Here are the popular places:
Zona Hippo. In this area, they have a place there called Hippo, which has steak, ribs, and hamburgers; some American-style food. They also play loud music every night, so young people flock to places like that. You can hear competing music from one tavern to another for about three square...

There’s lots of nightlife in this area.
Galerias. As far as disco, there are two competing discos. Both of them are on the newer south part of town located in the Galerias, which is a brand new, very large open shopping center.

There's also my favorite, the VIP theater, where for US $8, you get a three foot wide, reclining leather chair, and you can order popcorn, cokes, food, and even Scotch.
For other nightlife, there are new clubs, and the Ruben Dario Theatre. Of course, the music is in Spanish, so you have to be attuned to the Spanish language to get the benefit from the cultural depth.

If you love dancing, especially Salsa, Bachata and Merengue, then you have a few great options in Managua.
First, there's Fandango, also lovingly called "La Casita de la Salsa." The dance floor is rather small, and always packed with some of the best Salsa dancers in town. Definitely worth a visit, even if just to watch.
Another good location is "Fusión Nicaragua." The special thing about Fusión is that...

Another good location is "Fusión Nicaragua." The special thing about Fusión is that it's not just a restaurant and bar where you can dance, but that you can also take dance classes there. I can highly recommend it for private parties too. I celebrated a "round" birthday there, and it was fabulous.
The third place I can recommend for a great dance night out is "El Mirador Tiscapa." Not only do you get to enjoy a beautiful view over the Tiscapa lagoon, but you can also enjoy live music and dance in a relaxed atmosphere. What I like most about this place is that everyone dances there, from children to grandparents.
And of course, like most of the restaurants and bars in Nicaragua, all of these venues are outdoors. No closed rooms. No air conditioning. Dancing under the stars. :-)
