You can rent a small home with middle of trhe line finishes, 2 or 3 bedrooms in a regular neighborhood, unfurnished, and no security, for between $250 and $350 per month. It can be in one of the Managua neighborhoods, still a safe area. Or you can rent a nice house in a gated neighborhood, for $1,000 to $1,500, still unfurnished, but for middle to high quality, comfort, maybe new.
If you prefer a furnished house the cost will be higher, from about $450 to $850. There are many real estate agencies that will help you find a good place in Managua. Most of them will take you by appointment. Just make sure to specify what you are looking for, so do a little research online before making the appointments so you don't waste your time.
If you know a local, it's always easier, because we would happily help you make an educated decision, based on safety, cost, area, proximity to places, etc. Most of the places rent for six to twelve months, so you will need to take that into consideration when looking for a place to live in Managua.
