What's the crime rate against Americans and other expats in Managua, Nicaragua?

I am American and live in Managua. There seem to be few Americans who actually live there but in general I would say that most of the street crime is concentrated around public transportation and pedestrians. Managua is NOT a city for walking in most cases, because it is spread out and with no real center of the city. One should take the normal precautions as in most big cities. Be very careful with the taxis at night.
