Can I buy good clothes in Granada, Nicaragua?
Janice Gallagher - Granada Property Services
Clothes shopping in Granada, Nicaragua has gotten easier with some of the new shops which have opened up in the last few years. Many will custom make clothes for you at a fraction of the cost in the U.S. My husband has his shirts made as well as some pants. You can have boots and shoes custom made as well as belts and other accessories.

There are a couple of good stores where you can buy good clothing that expats usually wear. These are boutique-type stores that are a bit more expensive where you can buy a pair of shorts for about US $50. The price also depends on what brand...
There are a couple of good stores where you can buy good clothing that expats usually wear. These are boutique-type stores that are a bit more expensive where you can buy a pair of shorts for about US $50. The price also depends on what brand you are buying. If you do not want to buy these expensive brands, you can buy the local brands that Granadinos usually buy or you can go to the second-hand clothing stores.
If you want to buy really good clothes, you can go to Managua, which is 40 minutes away from Granada by bus or 30 minutes away by car, and you will find good clothes at the mall there. Managua has malls that sell US brands. You can also go to the malls in Managua to watch movies.

Granada doesn’t have malls yet. What we have here are just the basics. The shopping centers in Managua are similar to mid-sized malls in the US. Zara just recently invested about $10 million to extend the Galerias, which is a shopping center in Managua and they opened about six new stores that carry beautiful and really good quality clothing.
