Can I wear jewelry in Nicaragua and feel safe?

Yes, you can wear jewelry in Nicaragua and feel safe but, as in every country, please practice common sense. If you are going to be traveling by bus or taxi, or even doing a lot of walking, it is always best not to have certain items on display. Of course if you are going out to a restaurant, theater, etc. you can wear your jewelry safely.

Yes, you can wear jewelry in Nicaragua. Nicaragua is one of the two safest countries in Central America. Not only is our crime rate one of the lowest in the region, but our people are very friendly and always ready to help any visitor.
I always go to the market for fresh groceries every weekend and I don't have to worry about being robbed or mugged. Going out to restaurants and going out to have a good time with friends is also a very relaxing experience. As with...

As with any other major city in the world, there are some places that you will have to avoid, but in general I never have had any bad experience in the places I go.

I travel safe and smart and don't wear much jewelry anywhere. Everywhere I go, I do wear small earrings, a chain around my neck with a couple of things hanging on it, and I wear a watch, but I've never had a problem with safety or burglary, in Nicaragua or anywhere else.
With regards to the safety or theft issues surrounding wearing flashy jewelry, I'd say you don't have to worry more so in Nicaragua than anywhere else in the world.
