Riding a bike is the main mode of transportation for most of the locals here in the villages. In addition, there is a growing interest and community of different types of biking between jungle biking, city biking, and triathlons.
Biking is quite popular in the Yucatan and many of the new highways have their own bike lane on the side. There are even bike lanes starting to show up in the cities and areas designated just for bikes.
