What does it cost for a vacation rental in Yucatan: Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Merida, etc?

The cost for a vacation rental in Yucatan depends on the time of year and on what the people want out of a property. I own a vacation rental here with two bedrooms, two bathrooms on my property. The rent is US $660 a week, which includes electric, water, and everything else that you need such as pots and pans; it is a completely furnished unit. We have the same rate all year long. We don’t do seasonal rates.

If you are going to pay $1,000 a week for a vacation rental in Yucatan, you will be getting something palatial. You could also go as little as $200 or $300 a week for a little house back a few blocks on the beach. On the beach, $500 or $600 a week would get you a very nice place to stay. The prices are incredible.

The cost of vacation rentals in the Yucatan Peninsula varies depending on the season and the location of the house. The most expensive season is during Christmas Week, Easter Week, and all those major holidays. I’ve seen rentals go from US $500 to $3,000 a week depending on location – how close you are to the beach, 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen or to supermarkets. For a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house, all utilities included, you would spend US $1,000 per month if you are renting on a long-term basis but you can get many deals like that on vacation rentals. Usually, when you are renting long term, the tenants will be responsible for the utilities.
