Is there good fishing in and around Puerto Vallarta?

Puerto Vallarta is located on Banderas Bay, which is the second largest bay in the Americas consisting of 1,000 square miles. It is one of the best places to fish and is considered by many to be the sport fishing capital of Mexico There are a significant number of charters you can book that will practically guarantee big trophy fish such as sailfish or swordfish which often go 150-250 pounds. Or if you are happy with less than that there are dozens of smaller species that run during different months including Tuna, amberjack, red snapper, mahi mahi, grouper, marlin, wahoo plus many more. In doing our research we found detailed charts that identify which fish are prevalent during which months, approximate sizes, where to find them, and how they taste.
When my husband and I were evaluating where we wanted to retire, after considering the priorities, he said I want to go somewhere where there is good fishing so Puerto Vallarta was the best choice.
If you have a boat there is a large Marina where you can moor your boat. They range in size from little outboards to giant yachts, (think Aristotle Onassis,) or there are plenty of boats to go out on depending on your goal.

There is excellent fishing in Puerto Vallarta. There are annual deep-sea fishing events all the time for marlin, tuna, and sailfish. There are three marinas in or around Puerto Vallarta, which are Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, and La Cruz. La Cruz is just off the coast and about a half hour drive from Puerto Vallarta. People from all over the world come to Puerto Vallarta for deep sea fishing tournaments.

The bay in Puerto Vallarta is one of the largest bays in Americas. There are whales, porpoises, dolphins, and turtles. There are events all throughout the year to help turtles get back out to sea through conservation efforts for which foreigners volunteer.
I like trout fishing. There are some areas further south of Mexico where there is good trout fishing.

There is good bass fishing in Puerto Vallarta. Just south of town, there's a dam and a very large lake behind it, which is filled with bass. You could also go duck hunting in this area. It's a matter of getting the license and permits to go duck hunting. Some people would also go deer hunting in this area.
There's also lake fishing in Puerto Vallarta. There are people fishing off the docks, casting off from the beach, and catching smaller fish. There is also seafood, oysters, and clams.
The shrimp in Puerto Vallarta are Pacific shrimps. Some people have never seen a Pacific shrimp, which are larger than what they're used to seeing. Boats come right in north of Puerto Vallarta that bring in large Pacific shrimp all the time.
