Are there English-speaking doctors in Puerto Vallarta?

About 80% of all the doctors in Puerto Vallarta are bilingual. Most doctors here speak English because Puerto Vallarta is a tourist destination so the doctors usually cater to foreign patients.
The nurses are generally not bilingual but they are trained to communicate with foreign patients. Even if the nurses do not speak fluent English, they are still trained on how to communicate with English-speaking people.

There are English-speaking doctors in Puerto Vallarta, which is one of the biggest opportunities for people who don’t live here and are struggling with health issues or waiting for test results. Not only do we have doctors here who have been trained in the United States and have come back home to Mexico to practice here, but we also have the most amazing medical concierge service here.

There is a woman who is well-known in Vallarta Nayarit. She is the main contact for all the expats here in Puerto Vallarta, should we ever have any questions related to medical issues- from insurance to “I need to have my teeth cleaned; where do I go to have that done?” This woman does a wonderful job of being a liaison between all of the expats and the medical practitioners here. Every year, she has an event called “Medical Matters” where you can meet different doctors and specialists.
Every month, she features specialists. For instance, this month, it could be a specialist on heart health- a cardiologist. If you have any concerns, or you just want to have some baseline test done and ask questions to a cardiologist, you can schedule an appointment. On that particular day, the cardiologist will take appointment after appointment and meet with you. It will cost less than CA$100 (US $75) to see this doctor and get tests done for preventive care.
It’s an amazing service that I would highly recommend to Americans because they’ll save money and get excellent care, and to Canadians because they’ll save time. In the Canadian system, it can take a long time to see a specialist. In Puerto Vallarta, you can get in to see a specialist, get results, and move on.
The doctors of Puerto Vallarta are very good at what they do. Everybody who has had any treatment here in Puerto Vallarta has spoken very highly of the services they received. My personal experience is that they are outstanding and the services are absolutely on a par, if not better, than what I had when I was in Canada.
If I had a serious health issue, I wouldn’t be concerned at all and would have no hesitation going through that medical concierge that we have here in Puerto Vallarta and have anything done here, including any emergency care or elective surgery.

Yes, there are English-speaking doctors in Puerto Vallarta. Most of the private hospitals in Puerto Vallarta that are geared for Americans and Canadians definitely have English-speaking doctors.

There are English-speaking doctors in Puerto Vallarta. In general, Puerto Vallarta is a very large English-speaking community, which also includes physicians. There are over 200 physicians in Puerto Vallarta and most of them, if not all of them, speak English. There are some who speak English very well. It is unusual to find a doctor in Puerto Vallarta who doesn't speak English.
