How's the surf and surfing in and around Los Cabos - La Paz, Mexico?

Surfing is amazing in Los Cabos. If you like to surf and you live in Los Cabos, you will be in heaven because on one side is the Pacific Ocean and on the other side is the Mar de Cortez.
Last March 30th, I went to Cerritos beach where we have another project. The waves were amazing. There were a lot of people surfing. In winter, the high season of waves is in the section of the Pacific Ocean. In summer, the waves are in Mar de Cortez.

If you live in Los Cabos, it will take 20 minutes to go to both surf locations. For people who live in Los Cabos and surf, it's amazing because they can surf all year round and the water's warm all year round.
We have Los Cabos Open of Surf, which is a 6-Star women's pro tournament. It's the first one in Latin America and we have it here in Los Cabos. It is in one of our communities. We host the VIP area for the athletes and the press. The beach is a public area so everyone can watch the contest. It's a very important tournament. Last year, we had Keala Kennelly. She's the number one in the world for big waves. We also had Alana Blanchard and a lot of very professional and important surfers.
If you've got little kids and you don't want to go to the beach with big surf, there are some beaches in Los Cabos where you can go to that's great for swimming. For example, in the Medano in Mar de Cortez (Sea of Cortez), which is the bay of Cabo San Lucas, there are beaches with public areas where you don't need to spend much and you can just bring your own food, chairs, and umbrella. If you want to be more comfortable and not bring a lot of stuff with you, you can go to a beach club where you can enjoy some beer and food at very affordable prices.

If you start where I am on the East Cape, on the sea of Cortez side between La Paz and Los Cabos, we have what is known as the “last surf break.” In summertime, the surf will come up the Sea of Cortez side. Los Cabos is the last spot where there is a consistent surf.
As you go south towards Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, you’ll find a surf spots around Nine Palms on the Sea of Cortez which are good in the summer months.

As you wrap around in from Cabo San Lucas and go up towards Todos Santos, that’s where you’ll find Pacific surf. On that side, there are very consistent surfing spots. Those waves also tend to be better in the winter. Surf spots go all the way up basically to Northern California, and if the point is right and the ocean comes the right way, then they’ll have great surf. The most famous surfing spot in this area is Scorpion Bay which can be found on the Pacific side, a couple of hours north of La Paz.
