There are many foreigners in Los Cabos and La Paz. Many of the people who came down here were from California. Now, we also have people from British Colombia, Alberta, Minnesota, etc. People come from all over the US but there are not that many Europeans on a percentage basis. It’s mostly Canadians and Americans who live here. As Los Cabos grew, there was quite an influx of people, particularly of professionals and Mexicans who came from the mainland. Now we have everything from...There are many foreigners in Los Cabos and La Paz. Many of the people who came down here were from California. It’s mostly Canadians and Americans who live here. As Los Cabos grew, there was quite an influx of people, particularly of professionals and Mexicans who came from the mainland. Now we have everything from merchants, to doctors, attorneys, engineers, and developers. La Paz has Italians, Germans, and a lot of Canadians and Mexicans living there. The foreign population here in La Paz is not as dominant as in Los Cabos. We have seven universities in La Paz and a state music school so the lifestyle here is quite different from the lifestyle in Los Cabos. Los Cabos has some of the best discos, and bars. Sammy Hagar of the rock band Van Halen has a nightclub down in Los Cabos. There is a tremendous amount of nightlife there to get ready for spring breakers. You don’t get as many spring breakers here in La Paz as you do in Los Cabos. They come down to Cabo and dump a lot of money into the city.

The people who live in the Los Cabos – La Paz areas are from all parts of the world. The Mexicans who live here can be from all parts of Mexico and non-Mexicans are from either the United States or Canada. It is common for locals from all states of Mexico and Americans to look for jobs in Los Cabos and La Paz to work in hotels. I know people from California, New York, and Texas. There is a diversity of people who live in Los Cabos and La Paz....

This is nice because most of the people who live in Los Cabos and La Paz don't have their families with them so the new friends they found in Los Cabos and La Paz have become their family who they spend weekends with, play with their kids, and invited to dinner in their homes.

Mexicans become friends with foreigners because they are in the same situation as these foreigners in that they don't have their families close to them so they establish these friendships and consider their new friends as family, which is a common situation here in Los Cabos and something that I like. I have my family in La Paz and my wife is from Texas.
