Alfonso Galindo - I Go Yucatan
There are regions of Mexico that have plenty of lakes and rivers, lagoons and swamps, and great oceans. Kayaking is readily available and many people participate in the sport in Mexico.

There is also the Telchac area, which also has a great lagoon where you can participate in kayaking. And then the Rio Lagartos - San Felipe area, which also has great kayaking. And all these areas are also great for bird watching and seeing the flamingos. In between the lagoon and the ocean is a fabulous area for kayaking.
In the state of Chiapas there are many other areas where you can certainly partake of river rafting and kayaking.
There certainly are some rivers where you can do some white water rafting. The states of Chiapas, Durango, and the state of Mexico have some kayaking and some great river rafting as well.

Very near to Xalapa, Veracruz, one can find some popular rafting rivers, the most famous of these being in Jacolmulco, about a 45 minute drive away.
