Some of the most beautiful birds are the Turquoise- browed Motmot , Yucatan Jay, Yucatan Woodpecker, many parrots, Orange Oriole, many varieties of hummingbirds, and the famous Yucatan Wren, to name a few.
At my villa in Celestún we feed the hummingbirds every day between 6 and 8 liters of sugar water, and have been doing this for 13 years. The Bird guides bring people from all over the world to see them. The Motmots visit in the early mornings as do the Orioles and Yucatan Wrens. It is always a pleasure to live and or visit in an area that has an abundance of exotic birds.
Here in Celestún you can get guided tours in the early mornings, then back for a hearty breakfast, then off for more bird watching while also having time in your day to enjoy the wonderful beaches and sea food restaurants of Celestún.
