So you jump on a flight and literally, when you land in Placencia, you are 2 miles away from the village.
Belize International, which is on the outskirts of Belize City, is a three and a half hour drive or a 30-minute plane ride away from Placencia. If you live here in Placencia, and let’s say you want to have a vacation in Caye Caulker, you can take a plane going to Caye Caulker. You don’t have to drive and take a boat.
These little planes go everywhere from Belize City: to Belmopan, to Ambergris Caye, to Caye Caulker, to Dangriga, to Placencia, and to Punta Gorda. There are two airlines that have those flights and they fly all day. They just do not have flights at night. It is very normal for people in Belize to get on a little plane and go from place to place.

The airstrip is only 2 miles from the village center. The airstrip is only 2 miles from the village center. From there, there are flights direct from all southern ports of the US to Belize City. Now, there's even a direct flight from LAX to Belize City and Southwest has joined the airlines with flights to Belize from Houston.
The planes from Placencia airport fly all over the country. They even fly to Roatan and Honduras. From Placencia they would not fly to Guatemala directly, but you could fly all over Belize.
There are small airports and some larger airports throughout Belize. Belmopan is actually the capital of the country, so while the international airport is in Belize City, Belmopan has an airport, too. And many of the small villages even smaller than Placencia have their own airport.

From Belize International Airport, you need to take a puddle jumper over to Placencia, which is a 20-minute trip. In the next year, you will be able to fly directly into Placencia to our airport. This international airport that is currently in the works is only 15 minutes away from our project. You can be 15 minutes away from your home, or your condo. You could be 15 minutes away from playing golf, scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. The accessibility to Placencia will be greatly enhanced with our airport. Placencia will be more of a place one will want to go to in terms because it will be vastly more convenient.
Right now, the only international airport is Belize City and the difference between living in Belize City and living in Placencia is night and day. Placencia is one of the more beautiful places in Belize to live or go to for a vacation (while Belize City is not). Our airport will do a lot for land values and increasing the accessibility to a beautiful part of Belize.
