How's the surf and surfing in and around Placencia, Belize?

There is no surfing in Placencia because of the barrier reef off our shore.  The barrier reef breaks the big waves so they do not reach Placencia.

 

This is not only the case in Placencia. Even other parts of Belize do not get surfing waves so I do not think there is surfing in Belize at all, or at least not that I know of.
