How much do restaurants cost in Placencia, Belize?
Apolo Caliz
Restaurants in Placencia are really cheap, depending on where you go. You could get breakfast for US $5, you could get lunch for $5, and you can get dinner for $10 so you would be paying about $20 for food at restaurants each day if you ate out all three meals.

For the whole of Belize, you could start with breakfast and lunch at a restaurant for as low as US $5. Then it goes higher if you go to international restaurants that serve, for example, Italian, Mexican, or Indian, and which would cost you around $10 and up. But the basic Belizean meals such as rice and beans, stew chicken, and plantains only costs around $4 or $5.
If you go to Dolce Vita, which is an Italian restaurant, it would cost you around $25 for a plate without drinks....

If you go to Dolce Vita, which is an Italian restaurant, it would cost you around $25 for a plate without drinks. When I go to my favorite international restaurant, I spend around $20 for a full lunch meal. If you want to eat a complete course with an appetizer, dessert, and drinks, you will pay more.

- Mojo, which is like a New York lounge cafeteria down in Placencia Town, and which only opens at dinner time. It has a big green sign and a lot of people go there. They have great service and excellent international food, which is very original. They also serve excellent martinis.
- Bistro, which is also in Placencia, in Maya Beach. They also have excellent food and service. Their chocolate soufflé is even better than any in France.
- Indian Tiger, which is a new restaurant in Placencia that serves the best Indian food I have every eaten.
These three restaurants are among my top five best restaurants in Belize.
There is a lady who opened a Chinese restaurant called Dragonfly in the center of Placencia Town. They have the best dim sum and this lady has the real dim sum menu. What this lady opened is a real Chinese restaurant and the food on their menu is very good.

Restaurants in Placencia are pretty much affordable. It all varies on what and where you want to eat. There are several Creole restaurants right in town such as Omar's, The Galley, Grill N Go, D Thatch, Wendy's Creole restaurant, where you can get breakfast, lunch for US $5 each.
If you want a less casual dining/night out you might want to check out Maya Bistro and Mojo Lounge. These are more American-style restaurants and will cost you US $20 and up. There...

Our favorite restaurant that serves local food is called Sweet Mama's. It is just south of Seine Bight. You can get a nice meal for $10 or $12 bz (US $5 - $6). However, you can also get 5 star restaurant meals here, too. For example ,we just had our 5 year anniversary dinner at the Turtle Inn Resort. It was Indonesian tapas queasiness. That was hands down the best meal I have ever had in my life and it cost $100 bz / person (US $50). I can't even imagine a better dinning experience...
