Are there rivers, lakes and waterfalls in or around Placencia, Belize?

The lakes, rivers and waterfalls are within a one-hour drive from Placencia or less. The first 20 minutes drive, you are just getting off the peninsula.
Very close to Placencia you have access to a ridiculous amount of activities. There are rivers, lakes, waterfalls, streams, kayaking, exploring, hiking, jungles, a jaguar reserve, and it just goes on and on and on. So while these things are technically not on the peninsula, they are very close.

You just take the 20 minute drive to the top of the peninsula, and then from there, you either turn right or turn left, and you have access to some great outdoor activities.

There are no waterfalls on the peninsula of Placencia itself, but the closest one is within a half hour’s drive. There are waterfalls just tucked all over Belize, so even though there aren't any here in Placencia, you can get to a waterfall easily from Placencia.

There are no rivers, lakes, or waterfalls in Placencia. It is purely sand because Placencia is a peninsula. There is no jungle or any rivers there.

There is a jungle there and some nice waterfalls.
Basically, if you want to see rivers and waterfalls you just have to go out of the peninsula. The distance from Placencia Village to the top of the peninsula is 28 miles so that would take less than an hour to drive to get there. It used to take around 4 hours when the road was still unpaved.
One hour away from Placencia Village you will easily reach Cockscomb where you will find a beautiful waterfalls. From locking your door in the village to being in a bathing suit in a waterfalls would only take you one hour.
