How's the surf and surfing in and around Corozal?

There isn’t any surfing in and around Corozal.
Corozal is on a bay that is off the Caribbean Sea. In Mexico they call it Bahia de Chetumal and in Belize it’s called Corozal Bay. It is a large bay but it’s not really deep. Corozal is on a bay that is off the Caribbean Sea. In Mexico they call it Bahia de Chetumal and in Belize it’s called Corozal Bay. It is a large bay but it’s not really deep. You do get wave action but it’s not waves breaking onto a big sandy beach like Florida. The coast is a little rockier. It can be improved, like on our property we have a big seawall and we’ve created a big beach area above the water, but it wasn’t there naturally.
Also, you’re inside the Barrier Reef, which is the second longest in the world and the longest in the northern hemisphere, so the wave action is gravely diminished. The reef runs in the length of the country, so there’s great fishing, there’s fantastic scuba diving, which I participate in as well, and the boating is fine. But as far as surfing, no; Corozal is not a surf destination.
