There are no malls in Corozal but if you want to go to a mall you can go up and cross the border over to Chetumal, Mexico, which is just half an hour away from Corozal. When you cross the border to Chetumal, you can go to Super Walmart, Costco, Liverpool, and other big box stores. These are all American-style shopping malls. You can also go to restaurants, to a Starbucks, or other cafes.
If you are a resident in Belize, you don’t have to pay the exit fee. If you are a non-resident and you want to cross the border, you have to pay BZ $40 or US $20. And then you can go shopping. Just don’t buy twenty pieces of the same dress because then they know that you are going to resell them. As long as you don’t buy in bulk or as long as you don’t look like you are going to resell items, then you can go to Chetumal and shop as much as you want and nobody is going to bother you.
