Cayo, like the rest of Belize, has two seasons - rainy and dry. The rainy season is June to December; the dry season is between February to May, with January sitting on the fence between the wet/dry seasons.
Cayo usually gets a bit more rain than the northern part of the country; and a lot less rain than Toledo in the south. Also, at nights, Cayo is much cooler due to the mitigating influence of the Maya Mountains. The average temperature is in the 84° F...

The average temperature in Cayo is 78 degrees. Cayo tends to be cooler than other areas of Belize because of the mountains here.
The rainfall in San Ignacio Cayo is 64 inches a year. The amount of rain varies a lot in Belize – in the north of the country it’s 46 inches, in Cayo it’s 64 inches, and Punta Gourda, down south, is 145 inches; it’s always raining down there. It’s a very nice climate in Cayo; it doesn’t get too...

We never get hurricanes in Cayo. Hurricanes are rare in Belize, anyway. Hurricanes come in from the coast, which is about 700 miles away, so by the time they get to Cayo, they burn themselves out.
Basically, we have either the dry season or the wet season. It gets cold around November to January and people put on a sweatshirt. When it’s 60 degrees they say it’s freezing. In the winter, I put a blanket on my bed.
A high temperature of 95 degrees would be unusual. Occasionally, in the dry season it goes up to 100 degrees. The high temperature for a typical day would be 85 degrees.
