How much rain does Cayo, Belize, including San Ignacio and Belmopan get? When is the Rainy Season and the Dry Season in Cayo, Belize, including San Ignacio and Belmopan and what is it like?
Gwido Mar - Grupo Mar Realty Ltd.
The Cayo District in Belize ranges between 60 to 75 inches of rain per year. The rainy season is between June and November. The heaviest rainfall is in September and October.
In the peak of the rainy season, which should be October, you typically won’t get a torrential downpour. It's just light drizzle that's constantly there but a lot of things may get muddy because we've gotten enough rain previously that the ground is super saturated.

Even during the height of the rainy season, it doesn't mean that you can't go out, but if you wanted to have a party outside you probably wouldn't be able to.

The Cayo District has the same weather pattern as the rest of the country of Belize. I guess this is because Belize has a small geographic area. In the rainy season, we can get up to 8 inches of rain in a day. The wet season if usually from August to October and our dry season is from February to July. It doesn’t rain all day during the wet season. We get a downpour at random times of the day but we can also get sunshine on the same day. The meteorology center tries to predict...

The meteorology center tries to predict the weather but the weather has its own agenda! So you couldn’t rely on the weather updates sometimes.
How you would be affected by the rains depends on the type of activities that you are doing. There are lots of activities that you can do in San Ignacio but some places have remote roads or have dirt and muddy roads so if you are going to places that have these kind of roads, you wouldn’t want to go if it is raining because there is a possibility that you will get stuck. There are some places in San Ignacio that are perfectly fine to drive up to even if it’s raining. There are also places that are covered from the rain such as the cultural houses and other similar attractions.
