What are the best things to do in and around Ambergris Caye?

There is lots of things to do in Ambergris Caye. You can go to the wood fabrication company and the chocolate factory (shade cacao plantation, pictured) , where you can take classes. There is always Belizean cuisine to experience and learn. There is no shortage of cultural entertainment here. There is always music and dancing in the town park. There is lots of things to do in Ambergris Caye. You can go to the wood fabrication company and the chocolate factory (shade cacao plantation, pictured) , where you can take classes. There is always Belizean cuisine to experience and learn. There is no shortage of cultural entertainment here. There is always music and dancing in the town park. They constantly have concerts for the school and there are parades most of the time. Belizeans love to celebrate, so there is a festival for everything such as festivals for the chocolate, for wine, lobsters, etc. It is such a really great place.

 

There is a Mayan ruin on Ambergris Caye called Marcos Gonzales. The typical Mayan ruins are on the mainland, but there is a significant place here on Ambergris Caye where they found shards of pottery, skeletons, tools, etc. They even found full and intact skeletons here of what I believe were a couple that was buried together.

The best things to do in Ambergris Caye really depends on the individual. Personally, I love getting out on the water, and I love a little bit of socializing.

 

There is always something to do here in Ambergris Caye. We have groups of people getting together and doing something, whether social activities or activities for the betterment of kids or animals, etc. but by far, my favorite thing is getting out on the water.

The best things to do in Ambergris Caye is anything that has to do with the sea. This would include anything from diving, to boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, or fishing. If you are a person who likes being in or on the water, Ambergris Caye is the place to do it.

The best things to do in Ambergris Caye is anything that has to do with the sea. This would include anything from diving, to boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, or fishing. If you are a person who likes being in or on the water, Ambergris Caye is the place to do it.

 

Personally, I like just being here. I like the weather. I love the people and the sense of community. Ambergris Caye does not have as much of a consumer based lifestyle as it is in North America. If you want something, you have to get creative on how you can make it happen here because not everything that you are used to in North America is available here in Ambergris Caye. If you are looking to get away from that consumer mindset where you are constantly looking for the bigger, better thing or the thought of what you are going to get out of something or to live an instant gratification lifestyle, Ambergris Caye is a much better place to be. We don’t have chain stores here. We don’t have McDonald’s or a Walmart. What really drives this island are all the independent, small owner, entrepreneurial spirit as opposed to the big box stores that we are used to in North America.
