The cost to rent a vacation rental in Ambergris Caye depends on what you are looking for.  If you are going to rent a hotel room, you are probably looking at around US $150 to $250 per night. There are also some beautiful beachfront houses that go for $3,000 to $4,000 a week and resorts that run from $450 to $650 per night. The accommodations here are starting to get fairly expensive.

If you are looking at the low end, there is Ruby’s Hotel, which is down the street, two buildings away from my office. It’s a three-story, wooden structure that has been here a long time. The rooms are small. They go for $55 to $60 BZ per night, which is US $27.50 to $30 per night. We also have one place here that is 6 miles south of the town center called Cayo Espanto. It’s a private island with six villas on it that is the island that Leonardo di Caprio has. It’s a minimum 4-night stay that will cost you $15,000 for 4 nights.
