Biking is a sport that has become well known in Belize, and there are many companies now in Belize that send their teams to compete internationally.
Lots of people bike in Belize. And because our country is not big you can ride from Corozal to Punta Gorda, north to south in one day.

Many people use their bicycles as a main mode of transportation here in Belize. Here on Ambergris Caye, the land is quite flat so biking is easy. On the mainland, it is hilly, but it is still amazing to go on a bike there.

Motorbikes are not that common. There are a couple of motorbikes on Ambergris Caye, but you are not allowed to have a Harley Davidson on the island and I would assume that it is because of the noise they make. There are some motorcycles like Hondas here in the island.
On the mainland, I know they have an activity where bikers or owners of Harley Davidson bikes ride together. There's another event scheduled for Harley Davidsons in the next month. I guess they have about a thousand bikers who ride together.

Foreigners love that areas where you can go biking in Belize are so flexible. Nobody will look and think that you are funny or weird if you're riding a bicycle. You can rent a bike and you can go biking for the day. There aren’t any bike rentals that I know about in Belize City, maybe because of too much traffic in that area. But the resorts have bikes and golf carts you can rent.

We do have biking in Belize and we have a tour company that specifically caters to biking enthusiasts. They do a bit of off road biking to the different sites in Belize, so biking is a developing segment of the tourism in Belize.We also have road biking, mostly done by families. The biking tour companies take groups biking and use a guide and sometimes a second vehicle. Some of the destinations in Belize are hard to reach and you can only reach it by bike.
