Can I get a good caregiver in Belize and what is the cost of a good caregiver in Belize?

There are a good amount of organizations in Belize that provide services to older persons in the community in each district. The approximate cost would be around US $200 per month. You will need certification from a doctor, and the board will then decide if they can cater to your needs. Here’s a list of facilities:
- Mercy Care Centre
- Help Age Belize
- Salvation Army
- HOPE Toledo
- Belize Red Cross Society

A lot of nurses in Belize are generally not well-paid and so there are some nurses who act as caregivers on the side.
There are old-age homes in Belize, but normally, the elderly stay at home with the family, who cares for them.

To get a caregiver in Belize would not be difficult.
I have never been in that situation myself but many people who have, hire a girl that probably lives somewhere close to them and comes in throughout the day or they come in 2 or 3 days a week.
The average cost to get a caregiver in Belize is $50 Belize or US $25 a day.

You can get a good caregiver in Belize. There are a lot of retired nurses here who are looking for work, and nurses who work for the government are also interested in private work.
To give you a point of reference, we hired one of the nurses who works in the local hospital here for Belize $100 for a day (US $50). With this as a baseline, I believe it is reasonable to expect to pay about the same, plus food and living expenses for a live in...
