Are there earthquakes in Belize?

There has never been an earthquake in Belize. However we have felt some small movements from earthquakes in neighboring countries.

We do not get earthquakes in Belize. We had a few tremors, but the country has never had any significantly massive earthquake to date. I am not the authority on natural disaster,s but based from my experience living in Belize, we have not had a major earthquake yet.

An earthquake is not something that we experience, but we do have tremors from other countries such as Guatemala or Mexico, which do experience earthquakes.
I am not concerned about earthquakes at all, but we've seen that, depending on the severity of earthquakes in other countries, we do feel strong tremors.

We have experienced some little earthquakes in Belize, which might be aftershocks from earthquake or volcanic activity in other countries, but we haven’t experienced any major earthquake that you would say has broken down houses in which anybody has died.

Minor earthquakes have occurred in Belize, notably in Southern and Western areas of the country. These quakes have led to the destruction of poorly constructed buildings, the collapse of water towers, cracks in foundations on otherwise well-constructed properties, and in a few cases the appearance of small sink holes. There is no record of a severe earthquake in Belize in modern times.

There had been earthquakes in Belize but we haven’t had a significant one in a while. Earthquakes of low magnitudes happen in Belize but there are not many of them.
A magnitude 6 earthquake happened a while back but we haven’t had another one as strong as since then. I’ve been living in Belize for about 10 years now, and I’ve only experienced one pretty small earthquake for the entire time that I have been here.
