I cannot say that there is any resentment toward expats in Pedasi. Pedasi is really a welcoming community. You can see people walking across the street and saying good morning to each other. The locals would say "buenos dias,"which is "good morning" to everybody. Everybody’s really nice and the expat community is growing.
I believe that the reason why there is no resentment across the expat community is that the expats that come here do not try to "Americanize" the town. They embrace Pedasi and this type of living. They usually come in to be part of the community. This creates less friction. Maybe that is what creates the friction in other areas. In other parts, expats do try to Americanize where they move.
