The average retiree probably could not afford Clayton just because of the relatively higher cost of housing, but for someone who could afford it, it would be a nice retirement. Clayton is a really nice, green area. The City of Knowledge (within Clayton) sometimes puts on some concerts and events for the public. A jazz festival was held there last year and some of the events are free to the public. Some other events are not free, but they are reasonably priced.
When you retire in Clayton, you are only about 15 minutes away from Panama City, so if you want to go out to dinner somewhere outside of Clayton to a nice restaurant or go to the theater or go to a play, it is not hard to do.
