Finding an English speaking doctor in Granada Nicaragua is not hard to do. There are several, for example, a surgeon / GP who is actually Cuban, Dr Blanco; an ophthalmologist; and another doctor who runs a lab for all your blood work. That isn't many, I know, but it's a start and a prelude to the real care that is given at any of three good to great hospitals in Managua. For routine check ups, flu shots and sore throats, Granada has it covered, in English, but one has to travel 45 minutes to a state of the art hospital for the more complicated stuff.
I know for a fact that Dr. Blanco has seen me for high blood pressure and then turned around and performed minor surgery minutes later. You have to be flexible to live and work here and doctors aren't any different than the rest of us as it turns out!!
