The main airport in Panama is TOCUMEN, which is located approximately at 45 minutes from downtown Panama City, close to the hotels and banking area, if you take the regular streets, OR 18 minutes away though the expressway "Corredor Sur".  All the area in between is covered by houses and commercial places.  The expressway is a little bit more isolated.

Tocumen is the HUB of the Americas for Copa Airlines, the Panamanian airline, with connections to Central, South and North America on a daily basis.  Tocumen Airport also offers flights either daily, or several times a week from most of  the important airlines in the world, like Air France, KLM, Iberia, Fedex, Avianca, American Airlines, Delta, Continental, just to mention some, with non-stop flights and connections to several cities in Europe, Asia, South/North America, the Middle East and others.  And more airlines are currently in conversation with the Panamanian Aviation Transportation regarding commercial trade agreements.

In addition to Tocumen, there are also other local airports like the new Rio Hato, Albrook, David, Chitré, Isla Bocas, Changuinola, and some in Darién, for smaller airplanes, as well as for international flights.

There are 2 closest airports to Panama...it all depends where you are coming from or going to.  We have the "Tocumen International Airport", where all the international flights arrive.  This airport is about a 35 to 45 minute ride into Panama City...depending on which hotel you will be staying at in Panama City, and what time you arrive and how the traffic is at that time.

The other airport is known as "Albrook Airport" which is our regional airport.  You use this airport to go to Chiriqui, Bocas del Toro, San Blas, Contadora...all regional flights.
The Albrook Airport is about a 45 minute ride from Tocumen Airport.

There are two airports in Panama City, Panama. The international airport is called Tocumen International Airport. From Tocumen International Airport, you can find flights to almost any major city in the world.

The other airport in Panama City, Panama is called Allbrook. The flights from Allbrook are only within the country of Panama.

Many times, people fly into Tocumen International Airport and try to make a connecting flight through Allbrook or the other way around. If you do this, please make certain to leave enough time to travel between each airport. (The traffic can be fairly heavy, so please take this into consideration.)
