Chiriqui United, an Association of the leading humanitarian organizations in the Chiriqui Province of Panama
About Me
I am a retired Partner of McGuireWoods LLP where my practice was focused on Information Technology and Corporate/Corporate Finance matters.

I am the fourth generation of my family to live in Panama. My wife, Alicia, and I moved to Boquete in 2007. We chose Boquete with the sense that it was a bit like Aspen in the early days, but with a vibrant ex-pat community many of whom were engaged in important humanitarian activities.

I work on a full-time basis as a Director of Fundacion Amigos de Boquete (a Panamanian Not-for-Profit Foundation); a Founder of Chiriqui United (an Association of the leading humanitarian organizations in the Province of Chiriqui, Panama) and President and a Director of Friends of Amigos de Boquete (a US 501(c)(3)).

My wife, Alicia, is Co-President of Fundacion Amigos de Animales Boquete which has spayed or neutered over 8,000 cats and dogs since its founding in 2005.

Chiriqui United was formed as a result a seminar taught by Auburn Media (an affiliate of Auburn Seminary in New York City) in which all the Members of Chiriqui United learned how to leverage social media to achieve their respective goals.

The crime rate in Boquete is pretty low at this point. There was a time when one guy was responsible for a very high percentage of break-ins when I first came here. He is now in jail and will be in jail for some time. He was very effective after committing aro... Read More
I don’t think there are American-trained doctors in Boquete. Dr. Chen is the one we use.  Dr. Chen works for the Social Security until about 2 PM and then he tends to his practice, but when he is not there, he has either one or two doctors... Read More
