About Me
I bought my house in Boquete in 2003 and moved permanently in 2004. In addition to lots of other activities, my major effort is put into being president of Fundaction Bid 4 Boquete, a charitable fundraising organization similar to the United Way.

Bid 4 Boquete is a group of dedicated volunteers, located in Boquete, Panama, in the province of Chiriqui. In addition to other charitable activities, we organize a large annual charity event.

We raise money through several activities, including auctioning items donated by the community and others outside of the community. In 2012, we raised more than $70,000 and distributed most of it to organizations whose mission is to help the people of Panama in many ways, from renovating schools, to building libraries, to reducing the number of unwanted dogs and cats, to providing food and medical assistance.

Our goal for 2013 is to surpass last year's total, and we need YOU in order to accomplish that! Please provide us with an item or service to auction and / or volunteer.

The expats in Boquete are usually Americans, Canadians, and Europeans from all over the world. It is a wide variety. I would say the common denominator among expats here is they tend to be a bit more adventurous than the people who stayed home. A lot of t... Read More
